I know you are a fan of the Breguet Marine (previous generation).

Mine is ready for service, there is some weird resistance and "scratching feeling" when winding the crown. That just appeared - there was no incident before it. I stopped wearing it as soon as I noticed it.

Now for the question, I'm located in Croatia, the nearest Breguet boutique is in Austria or Italy. Should I take it there or can I hope that a decent watchmaker can deal with it?

Found a vintage 1970s Rado I like in the UK for $400. About average. If my math is right, there's the 10% new tariff ($40), plus postage ($25), plus (Swiss) watch component duty ($25?), all which seem to make an OK deal somewhat not so attractive. Is my fees assessment on target? Anyone have thoughts or a recent experience? This isn't exactly a George Daniels acquisition but what the hell.

I've recently discovered this watchmaker. Don't know much about him, but he seems to have some real pedigree. Fed - I saw your review of one of his pieces a while back.

So I found a Spirit of Challenge Grand Date Retrograde Seconds with the salmon dial, full set, for $5k. New and unworn. Steel case with open back.

Does that price sound about right to you?

Federico, any thoughts on organizing a small watch meetup sometime? I think it would be a great opportunity to connect in person, talk watches, share collecting experiences, and maybe enjoy a good whiskey together.

It could be a relaxed “Watches & Whiskey” type of evening where everyone brings a few interesting pieces from their collection to share and discuss. You could even bring some of your current inventory so people can try on pieces they normally wouldn’t get the chance to see in person.

I think it would be a great way to meet fellow enthusiasts and build more of a local watch community outside of just online conversations.

I know collectors have varying opinions of Panerai, but I have to share my experience with my PAM 01085 Blu Mare. I bought it a few years ago used. It's a 2018 that has not been serviced. I wear it a lot even though it's big for my wrist, and I am not at all careful with it. I've worn it while doing yardwork, working out, and out and about just about everywhere. It definitely gets knocked around. This morning I put it on the time grapher just to see how it's doing, to see if it's time to consider a service. Check out these stats! I totally get it if PAM is not for you, but I absolutely am a fan based on my experience so far.

Oris doesn’t get much love but I think their new Artelier watches are 🔥. Oris was the first mechanical watch I ever bought. I still think they offer some great bang for the buck watches.

Has anyone started a thread here for pics of their own watches on wrist? I just snapped my white Millgauss this morning as I think it looks great with blue. I know it’s a left field watch (not a field watch), but I love it.

This is really interesting, apparently there are people camping out five days in advance for this watch - anyone have any insight on how to get one? I’d imagine the resale value will be insane given all the hype! I picked one of the Guggenheim swatches up and it’s pretty cool. Anyone have any thoughts or an idea on how to pick one of these up?

I saw somewhere that if you're going to buy a Roth, you want to focus around the year 1995 when he was actually hands-on in making the watches. Anyone have experience with these watches that can confirm or deny this tactic?

Personally I am in the commercial auto rental and lease business, and run an offshoot family office that invests in alternative finance platforms and round B/C companies. Totally ruined my love for cars but it keeps me on my toes all the time.
