I'm looking to buy a Seamaster Bond (first gen, ref. 2531.80, but with luminova instead of tritium). Got 2 questions for you:

1. I know many of them suffer discoloration on the tip of the seconds hand. Do you have an idea of the cost of having the seconds hand replaced for a new one from Omega?
2. Considering I live in Europe, where would you look for that watch besides Chrono24? Any seller/website recommendations?

I just wanted to get your opinion on the Rolex Explorer II 40mm Polar "Chicchi Di Mais" dial Ref. 16570. I believe "Chicchi Di Mais" means Kernels/Grains of Corn in Italian which is in reference to the heavy yellow patina on the hour markers. These watches in good condition usually go for over $10,000+. Do you think they are worth the price or is it just hype?

Curious what YouTube channels people like for watch content? Been a subscriber to Fed’s channel years and it’s one of my favorites but I also really enjoy the content Mike puts out on his channel “This Watch, That Watch”. However I’m not a fan of Brit Pierce (formally Watch Gringa). What channels do you like or dislike?

Couple of questions for Federico:

1. Do you have interest in taking trades from the FTW members for watches on the Dealer Market?
2. Any plans for an FTW member marketplace where we could offer personal pieces we’d be interested in selling or solicit watches we are looking to buy within the FTW Member Community? If so, how would that work? Not looking to turn this into a private Chrono24 by any means but it would be cool if members could buy/sell/trade internally.

Perusing Chrono24 there are always much lower prices coming out of Japan. Not to mention some brands/models only sold there.

Why are their prices consistently lower? What should I be cautious of if looking for a watch from there?

I'd like to add an 80's to 90's piece with box and papers, CPO, or Rolex service papers to my collection.

For those who have owned an Oyster Quartz, what was your wearing experience? What was the battery life? Is it reasonable to change the battery at home?

The case diameter in the ad is incorrect. The watch is 34mm.

When looking at current Omega reference numbers, the third set of digits is the case diameter. In this case (pun intended!), it's 34mm.

I hope this post doesn't come across as negative but what is the long term plan for this place? I totally see the value add if you happen to find a watch you like in the dealers market section relative to the retail value. However, thus far all the stuff there is Delray Watch stock and not what I would call the most desirable inventory for the most part. The forum look and functionality is very clunky and sparse. This inhibits user participation (particularly the lack of ability to add photos, gifs etc.) which is half the fun. There are tons of out of the box forum templates that can plug right in and be more complete and user friendly.

I get that its the first few weeks but is the intention to bring on other dealers that will boost the inventory diversity in the marketplace or is this intended to be a Delray Watch sales channel only?

There are deals all over the internet however one of the hardest things is how to trust and but a good seller, this is one of the reasons I joined FTW where I hope I will see all kinds of interesting watches. In the meantime this is a watch I came across that I like, is it a good deal? almost everything on the site is described as 99% LNIB.

We decided to make a stake mostly in Ethereum & Bitcoin based on strong research and world views of another banking/market platform. FYI, we’re still learning all the jargon!!!

I live in Europe (Luxembourg). I recently went to the local Omega boutique and asked about the latest Speedmaster Snoopy.

They told me it's the only model that they don't place orders for. Apparently, demand is still high and they get asked about it a lot (3x per day), but have only received 1 watch in 2025.

So, even though the model has not been officially discontinued, it seems to be pretty much impossible to get one new from an Omega boutique/AD.

My question to you is: how do you think the secondary/used market price for the latest Snoopy will behave in the next few years? Do you think it will only go up or do you see any possible dips? Will it remain at the current level for some time or do you see an upcoming price hike once it's officially discontinued?

My friend's dad passed away recently, and he asked if I wanted to buy his dad's watch (or help him sell it). It's a 1990 16220 (Silver dial, Engine Turned Bezel, Oyster bracelet) with box/papers.

I feel like I could give him a fair price on that... because there are probably thousands of comps I could compare with :)

What i don't know about is the engravings on the case back.. It has his Dad's name, the IBM logo, then the date November 1990.

It's in ok shape, zero service history (as in.. I know the history: it's never been serviced).

Does this IBM Engraving hurt, or increase the value?

If I buy it, I want to give him a fair price (the money goes to his mom). If we sell it i don't want to go into getting offers blind. What do you think would be a fair price for a basic 16220 w/oyster and a personalized caseback?

Clean model and includes card but not box. Watch is 6 years old so probably due for a service. What would it cost to service this watch? Is this a fair price ?

Other than the Zenith El Primero and Grand Seiko, what other brands make good high beat movements/watches? Anyone have any experience with others?

Also, are their quartz watches worth owning?

I have all three (just one quartz), but I've been thinking I just should stick to their mechanicals going forward, because I'm not sure how much further they can take Spring Drive.

Am asking, because I really love the 'Tentagraph', (a mechanical chronograph), which I'm considering next.

The bigger question is, are Grand Seikos worth owing? I love my collection and would like a few more, but the drop in prices as pre-owned can't be ignored.

Does anyone pay attention to Hodinkee anymore? I lost so much interest in their content over the last few of years. It’s boring, pretentious, and just not relatable most of the time. Just curious if I’m the only one that feels that way?

Thoughts on Vulcain watches? Wish I could see their collection in person. Lots of good looking pieces, imo.
