Hey FTW Collective - I want to celebrate a personal milestone in my life by buying a new watch and I've been a bit frozen on what to buy. I have a collection of neo-vintage omegas, a handful of micro brands in the sub 1K range, and various Casio models.
I've been looking at the VC 56 in blue on a bracelet, older explorer 2 models, Breguet Marines, Gen 2 VC Overseas (various models), various H Moser models, and some Ressence models like the Type 8.
Here are my considerations:
- I have been looking at different models for years now so I know whatever I buy I'm likely going to sell so I am concerned with value retention
- I prefer something I can wear regularly that is relatively speaking under the radar
- I have huge wrists and prefer something thin enough to wear with a normal button down shirt (without french cuffs)
- I prefer bracelets with micro adjust capabilities but normally wear my watches on rubber straps
- I am incredibly clumsy and prefer something that is not ultra polished such that I'm reminded of the time I bumped my watch into something
Thank you all for your feedback and input. I look forward to reading your comments.
