Japan is moving up on my travel list. One benefit besides sumo, sushi, and bullet trains, would be watch shopping. Wondering if any members have a good story and whether the dollar-to-yen favorability was a real benefit, negotiating and if bringing it back through Customs was fee-punitive. My one experience with watches and Asia was a Taiwan trip with my then maniac-toy importer boss who had his tailor make me Saturday Night Fever shirts and a fake Rolex buying spree through a false door entry. I returned to NY wearing the watch in my forearm with its gold patina good for about six months. Yeah, the days long gone.

I've become more curious about Breguet, particular the classical two and three hand models. They really catch my eye. There is no shortage of opinions on whether they are priced appropriately, but I'm not finding much on their reliability and servicability.

As a reference point, I own a couple of Rolexes (Rolexi?) that I service about every 5 years and they keep perfect time. I wear my watches perhaps once a week, and keep them on an Orbita winder when not in use.

Does anyone have experience with the Breguet brand in this regard?

What is everyone wearing this week?

Thought to kick off the start of Sleep Deprivation Time after trying out the Grand Seiko SLGC009 Tentagraph at their Miami boutique (cool guys working there). I have to say, the watch kinda got to me in a brutalist, WTF kinda way. Color, size, and case angles won't work for everyone, but I dug it. Light, comfortable and killer finishing and dial. I know; it's large and the retail is in pre-owned, nice two-tone Daytona territory, but this is completely different and knows it. Ten beats a second, 72-hour power, dual impulse escapement, twin barrels, blah, blah. Different! For kicks, what say you?
